TB message list display format

I have a friend who has persisted with Eudora all these years but finally is about to bite the bullet and use TB. She misses the "ruled page" format of inboxes/outboxes that she found helpful in Eudora because of a slight visual impairment. This is nothing more than a horizontal line separating one message entry from the next in a message list.

Is there any way to add this functionality to TB's display format? Add-on? Alternate CSS? TIA for any insight

Help/Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Folder, close TB, create a subfolder named chrome, and in chrome create a new document with a text editor, save it as File type: All files *.*, named userChrome.css, copy the above code into the css document.

Config. editor is under Options/General at the bottom.

Add this to userChrome.css in the chrome subfolder of the profile folder:

/* Add bottom border to thread pane (message list) */
#threadTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row {
  border-bottom: 1px solid threedlightshadow !important;
}

Double-click toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true in Config. editor.

To add zebra striping:

/* add zebra striping */
treechildren::-moz-tree-row(odd) {
  border: 1px solid transparent !important;
  background-color: #FFFFFF !important;
  min-height: 18px !important;
  height: 1.3em !important;
}

treechildren::-moz-tree-row(even) {
  border: 1px solid transparent !important;
  background-color: #F4F4F4 !important;
  min-height: 18px !important;
  height: 1.3em !important;
}

Thanks for your quick response, sfhowes. However, I do not have "userChrome.css" anywhere on this machine (old Win7 SP1) or on my alternate desktop Win10 latest. Both run TB 78.3.3 (32-bit) and both machines have both latest Chrome and latest Firefox installed and used frequently.

From the looks of your solution and my limited ability to interpret the code, it's probable it will do what I want. But nothing can happen until I find that stylesheet.

Thanks a 1e6. After a little tweaking of the highlight color I have exactly what I was looking for. Stay safe
