My OS got updated to Gnome 40.3 after that the configuration got mess up, when checking the about:support page the page was blank so I refreshed Firefox. After that the problem persist so I erased the "places.sqlite" and "favicons.sqlite" as instructed in the troubleshoot page but then I got the following problem and uninstalling, erasing the program files and reinstalling Firefox in the OS didn't solve it

Task: checkIntegrity - Unable to check favicons.sqlite integrity: [Exception... If errors are reported with "Verify Integrity", close and restart Firefox or reboot and retry.

If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite, rename/remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

  • keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created
  • you lose the history when a new places.sqlite is created

You may have to restore an older bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder via the Bookmarks Manager (Library).

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thanks but I already tried all those options, even making a new profile didn't solve it. It can't even save new bookmarks in a new profile or a new install of Firefox

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Do a clean reinstall of the current Firefox release and delete the Firefox program folder before installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

If you keep having problems then you can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

Reinstall Firefox

I also tried those options, neither the fresh install nor the new profile fix the issue

The image in the first post are messages that appear on a the Firefox console with a fresh install and a new profile

I think I've somewhat narrow down the problem. This problem persist after erasing the files with no firefox process running

After checking the lock file I get the following message: This link cannot be used because its target "xxx.xxx.xx.x:+xxxxx" doesn't exist.

And when checking the host on that IP I get: Host x.xx.xxx.xxx.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

And I reinstall my OS and the issue appeared again after a few hours of it working, as per the last time after opened the program everything is loged out and extensions not working and troubleshooting mode present same issue

New places database integrity check:

> Task: checkIntegrity + The places.sqlite database is sane + The favicons.sqlite database is sane > Task: invalidateCaches + The caches have been invalidated > Task: checkCoherence + The database is coherent > Task: expire + Database cleaned up > Task: originFrecencyStats + Recalculated origin frecency stats > Task: vacuum - Unable to vacuum database > Task: stats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: _refreshUI - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task.
