Can't Send Mail from Main Inbox After SMTP Change

Hi - I have email via GoDaddy and the recently switched us from Workspace to Outlook365. It was fine for a while, but earlier this week, I was unable to send/receive from a secondary inbox on Thunderbird. GoDaddy gave me new server settings and it fixed the secondary inbox, but now my main inbox can receive but cannot send mail in Thunderbird. I have two iOS devices and didn't even have to change any settings -- works just fine. But I cannot send mail from my main inbox on my PC laptop, and GoDaddy can't help fix it. All the settings are correct and I have "waited a few hours" and "restarted" several times in the last few days. Can someone help? The SMTP setting is attached in a screen shot. "Customersupport" is the secondary inbox and has always been the default address for outgoing mail. My main one is "lisa@". Thank you - I've been a happy Thunderbird user for 13 years and do not want to stop using it. Lisa

Do you have the gmail account sending on the gmail smtp, and the lisa and customer support GoDaddy accounts sending on separate O365 smtp servers? I think you need to create another smtp server with the same settings as the customersupport smtp, except with the User Name = lisa@god.... Give each smtp a unique Description, such as lisalewisGmail, lisa good2go and custsupp good2go. Then, select each account in the left pane of Account Settings, and in the right pane click Outgoing Server (SMTP) to match each account with the correct smtp, i.e. the gmail account sends on the gmail smtp, lisa@good... sends on lisa good2go, and cust...@good sends on custsupp good2go. See if that allows each account to send.

Hi, and thanks. Unfortunately, when using a unique smtp for lisa@, it just times out and doesn't send. The customersupport@ smtp is set as default. And it always worked just fine for both until the other day. Soooo frustrating.

And much as I hate to leave, I now have no choice but to transfer everything to Windows Mail. Do you know how to do that? I made a backup, but the Thunderbird import/export tool I downloaded is corrupt. Thanks!

Do you have to enable smtp service for each account in GoDaddy settings? Make sure the lisa@ smtp has the same settings as the custsupp smtp, except for the User Name (email address). It may not be the cause, but timeouts are often due to antivirus scanning of outgoing mail, so it should be disabled if it's enabled.

You could always set the accounts to send on the gmail smtp, and to make it transparent to recipients, add the GoDaddy accounts as 'Send mail as' in the Accounts & Import section of gmail webmail settings.

If you mean the W10 Mail app, not Windows Live Mail, I don't think it has any options for importing mail. But since your accounts are IMAP in TB, adding them to Mail as IMAP should download (sync) the mail on the IMAP server.

Yes, kind of. What it *doesn't* sync is all my old email and contacts, etc. It's got the latest few emails, but nothing more. I think I will have to keep them both going and just use the Windows app for sending. Ugh. Thanks!
