I just upgraded to version 91 from an old version where the address book was in .mab format. I have back-up copies of all my addresses in the .mab format. I version 91, no addresses were brought across and the address book is totally empty. How do I get the new version to recognize my old addresses?

One way would be to import your .mab files into 91 from Tools/Import... Address Books...Mork database... select a mab file.

Perfect solution. Thanks you for helping. One more issue that I am having with Ver91 is that it doesn't save my account log in passwords. Each time I start up Thunderbird, I have to enter them again. Is there a way to have the passwords saved as was possible in Ver 22?

If deleting the 3 password files doesn't work, you may have to create a new profile, as it seems that some obsolete files in old profiles affect password saving with new versions.

Here is the only file I could find in my profile that might deal with password saving: permissions.sqlite Is this one of the three you were asking that be deleted? I tried to set a primary password to see what file changed, but Thunderbird gives me a " primary password can not be changed", error message

The permissions file is for remote content. The 3 files are key4.db, cert9.db and logins.json. A primary password is for protecting access to the passwords. If one has been mistakenly created or forgotten, it will be reset when the 3 files are deleted.

I found and removed Key4 and cert9 but there was no logins.json file. NO Joy but thunderbird made new key4 and cert9 files to replace the ones I deleted. I then removed two older signon.txt files, a signons.sqlite permisions.sqlite. Again, this did not solve the issue. Any other thoughts?

Do you have any external app that is managing passwords, such as ones included in some security suites? Or a system app like CCleaner?

If none of these apply, create a new profile, add an account, and see if passwords work properly.

HI, I was able to solve the issue by copying the app data/roaming/thunderbird and renaming it. I then set up my profiles which had no issue remembering passwords. I then brought back the address books and POP messages. A bit of extra work but I guess it is my own fault for not staying current with the TB updates. Thanks for your help.
