The entire Firefox UI freezes frequently after updating to 107. The freezes occur while navigating to a page or shortly after (e.g. clicking a link or entering a search term into the search bar). The freezes last for about 2 to 10 seconds. During the freeze the entire UI is unresponsive and does not respond to any mouse or keyboard input. However, animations like the page loading spinner where the favicon is on the tab continue to move.

Try changing the following preference in about:config and restarting.

I spoke too soon. The UI freezes are back. I checked to make sure that the setting in about:config didn't revert itself.

Just as a test, download another version like Beta, Dev, or Nightly and use it for some time to see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

I've been seeing the hanging on mostly on Windows since 102, but I'm not on Windows that much.

Also, next time it hangs, check task manager and see if the there is a process showing for Edge. Just a conspiracy, but I noticed that every time Firefox hangs, there is a Edge process running.  ;-)

I spoke too soon again, the problem returns :|
