Paste works, but Copy does not

When I copy something to my clipboard I can paste it into Firefox. Into web pages and also into the URL bar.

But when I copy something in Firefox, it does not go to the clipboard. The clipboard still hast the content which was already there.

Also strange: When I cut text in a textarea, input element or the URL bar, the text is removed. But it is not sent to the clipboard. When I cut and paste, the text I get is what was previously in the clipboard.

What could be the cause? How can I debug this problem?

Interesting... All the clipboard talk sounds like an OS / Desktop issue to me.

What OS? What Desktop? X11 or Wayland?

I agree, it looks like a Desktop issue. But copying from Chrome / Cromium and all other Applications works fine. Only copying from Firefox does not.

I am running Hyprland, Wayland, Arch.

Any suggestions how I can debug this?

Different desktop and X11.

You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.
