Firefox is incredibly slow. Running Firefox on 2MB cable is about the same speed as Explorer on dial up. Why is this, and is there anything I can do to improve this?

This is something that started from the first time I used Firefox, but has gotten steadily worse.

What are you running as far as a security suite and / or a Firewall?

because i have the same problem i use avg.do you have found the source of the problem?

Actually, I have solved the problem by using Firefox in "safe mode". Not sure why this solves the problem, but it runs much faster.
