You may have installed a persona that isn't working properly.

You can uninstall your current Persona and revert to the Default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

The 'persona' or skin was installed with the prev version of Firefox and was 100%. iIt still is but the text in all the toolbars and tabs in Firefox 4 are YELLOW and barely legible against the persona. So I want to change that yellow colour. And can't find any way of doing that. Why should that be so hard? eric

If you have installed a persona then the default text color and background color of the toolbars are defined by that persona.
The colors of the currently selected persona are stored as the first entry in the pref lightweightThemes.usedThemes as textcolor and accentcolor.
You can edit that pref and set another value for the "textcolor":"#ffffff" part (e.g. "textcolor":"#000000").

Thanks...that's getting helpful for me...a novice. Where do I find those prefs. I don't see them under 'extensions' where the persona is held as enabled.

And while I'm here, how come Firefox 4 now disables my Norton toolbar? Surely this would have been recognised as a problem?

Thanks eric

Sorry, I forgot to add instructions on how to access prefs via the about:config page.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
