It may be rather late to say this but it is usually possible to preserve private data whilst dealing with Firefox problems.

If you are trying to remove fireox for a clean reinstall, it is the program and program related files that need deleting or uninstalling.

Unfortunately even a clean re-install does not always solve the problem, for instance plugins or external software, and malware are sometimes the cause of crashes.

See also firefox crashes see if you are able to obtain a crash ID or crash signature it may help determine what the problem is.

Does firefox only crash when you try to save an image. (That seems to me unusual/unexpected.)

I have since ran an avg in safe mode but the problem persists, I have a crash report which is here :

This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.

If this makes any sense to any one ?

It is specifically the reports that Mozilla produces, when BreakPad is used; that with luck get annotated with bug information that are of interest.

It is the link/string of characters, that you see when going to about:crashes by typing that into the location bar that we would like to see.

hope this pastes ok

Yes that is

There is not yet any useful information about that as far as I can see. If you are able to obtain other crash ID s they may be useful.

It may be worth noting

  • malware is a common cause of Firefox 7 crashes
  • malware could produce variable crash signatures
  • other recent crashes causes have been IDVault (often from Comcast)
and some Oracle software - usually in a corporate environment

(Do you have such software ?? )

That seems to be a problem with Trusteer Ltd.
