I have not been able to activate the "attachment" button when using mail.com. I contacted mail.com and they instructed me to enable the "javascript" in Tool>Options>Content>enable java; also Advance. I have attempted this repeatedly; I have uninstalled/installed Java; and, I have even gone so far as unistalling/installing Mozilla Firefox Browser 7.0.1. Nothing works to allow me to attach a file to an email when using Firefox browser and mail.com. I have tried to see if this works with IE8 and I have no problem in this browser using mail.com and attaching a file to the email I wish to send. Can you assist me, so I can continue using the best browser-Firefox!!

This problem occurs when I use my laptop (Windows 7) and my desktop (Windows XP)

The mail.com site uses JavaScript extensively. If you have it turned off, you just get a blank page after logging in. So I don't think that is the issue.

When I click the Attachments button I get a dialog to select files, but after choosing a file and clicking Open, nothing happens. Is that what you see?

Since there are no errors in the Error Console, I don't know what is going wrong with this function. Hmmm... do you think mail.com actually tested their site in Firefox 7?

I noticed a difference between Firefox and IE. In IE, the site uses Flash for the uploading, while in Firefox the site tries to use HTML5 uploading. I can't see a way to trick the site into using Flash in Firefox. (For example, if I have the browser lie to mail.com and say it is IE8, then the site just doesn't work at all, login never completes.) Very frustrating.

I may go to an older version of Firefox. Youp outlined the problem correctly.

You could run the portable version of Firefox 3.6 on the side for mail.com and keep your current installation for normal browsing. Portable Firefox does not interfere with your main profile.
