Until the most recent update when the autocomplete location bar was selected, it "went" with no further clicking. Now I have to click the refresh arrow. It won't even work with the return. How can I make it work the old easier way?

You can disable that extension in Tools > Add-ons > Extensions and close and restart Firefox normally.

Hi sherryocala,
I'd try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide and the Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems article as well.
Hopefully this helps!
Thank you, Matt, for your answer. I'm not real swift on the Safe Mode stuff. Do you mean the Safe Mode when you first turn on the computer (like after a crash)? This happens on 3 computers I use.
Sherry
That issue can be caused by the AVG Safe Search extension
See:
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
Save mode:
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
cor-el, thank you so much. That fixed it, but does this mean I can't use AVG Safe Search. Is there a substitute? I do like the security (hopefully real) that it offers. What now? How do I get out of Safe Mode?
Sherry

Thanks, cor-el. This worked.
