Can't start Firefox since installing to 12 (crash)

I updated to version 12 and since then can not start Firefox at all, it instantly crashes. I don't understand how I can get it to start in "safe-mode" when it doesn't star at all, so I can't get into options to disable plug-ins... could someone provide "for dummies" instructions?

Any tips on fixing this? On the crash report, it says the crash reason is EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE.

Looks like a problem with cookies.

Try to rename cookies.sqlite to cookies.sqlite.sav and delete a possible cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case that the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
