I keep getting notifications that my quicktime plugin has crashed. I have the latest Quicktime Edition 7.7.1 and Firefox 12 installed. This does not happen with IE 8. OS is Windows XP Pro SP3.

This is the website on which Firefox plugin crashes for me consistently. http://www.janalea.com/. It's my realtors website.

First I would reccomend making sure you have the most up-to-date version of the plugin you can check for yourself by following this link:

As I said above I have the latest versions of every plugin and program. It's all updated. I already searched the database for solutions and read all those things you suggested previous to posting. Nothing there helped.

We have same problem in WindowsXP SP3 + FF12 + QT7.7.2 and Windows7 + FF12 + QT7.7.2.

Quicktime plugin is to be honest a piece of crap, slows down Firefox and causes problems like this. As Quicktime is maintained by Apple, you should complain to them.

Personally, I recommend you disable it completely and install VLC media player, it has a plugin component that you can use instead.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling QT and Firefox several times, nothing worked.

Finally I loaded up the VLC player as suggested above, and disabled QT plug-in in Firefox.

So far my media all works fine now!
