I have a 5 line html code on my server uses the video tag; the movie I mention, in the code, is a file xxxxxx.mp4 I can play this mp4, online or offline, in IE,Safari, Chrome and Opera, but NOT in firefox (I have v12). It gives err: "no video with supported format of MIME type found" or the like. Must I convert my mp4 to another filetype, or is there something I can "do with" my FF vers 12!? I use XP, on a desktop.

In general, no, current versions of Firefox do not support mp4 files natively. Users currently require a plug-in of some sort to play mp4 files in the browser. That will probably change at some point in the near future; there was a long discussion about this topic and the general decision was to implement support for this format.
