Awesome bar - how do I stop auto switch to another window that has same site open.
Many times I want multiple copies of a site open, like to look at multiple maps. But when I enter mapquest.com in a new window, FireFox switches me back to the window that already has a copy of mapquest open. I can do tricks to get a 2nd copy open, but that is pretty tiresome. How do I turn off this automatic switch to the other window? FireFox 12.0 on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2

- CTRL + left-click or middle-click the Reload button to open the current page in a new tab.
- CTRL + left-click or middle-click items in the history of the Back and Forward buttons to open a page from that list in a new tab.
- Duplicate a tab with its history by pressing CTRL and dragging the tab to a new position on the tab bar.
- Dragging a tab in the browser window will detach the tab and move it to a new window, this is called Tab Tearing.
- Drag a tab back to the tab bar in the original or anther window to undo a detach or move a tab to a specific window. If a window gets empty (you tear off the last tab) then that window will be closed automatically.
- You can use ALT + D to set the focus to the location bar and use ALT + Enter to open the current page in a new tab (no need to release the ALT key).
Check and tell if its working.

If you try to open the same URL in more than one tab then you may have the "Switch to tab" feature preventing that.
Hold down the Alt or Shift key while an entry in the drop down list is highlighted to disable "Switch to tab" and see the URL of all entries instead.
- Alt + Enter opens the highlighted URL in a new tab.
- Shift + Enter opens the highlighted URL in the current tab.
- Cursor Right copies the highlighted URL to the location bar in case you want to edit it.
