When I go to back up my bookmarks and save it as a json file on my desktop, it tells the file is only 30kb, it is highly unlikely as I have many bookmarks. I then tried to export the bookmarks as a HTML file and, it too said the file was only 30kb. you please tell me how to solve this problem??

Possibly it is that your expectations are wrong regarding the size or the file.
Why not examine the HTML file see if it seems to contain all your bookmarks. It may open as a Firefox tab if you open it using
- Firefox Button ->File -> Open File
An alternative method would be to open it with a Word Processor capable of handling HTML, or even any WP or Text editor as that will still give you a good idea of the content.
Do all the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder have that same 30kb size?
