How are add-ons installed if unknown sources are unchecked?
I leave unknown sources unchecked on my Android devices, but that does not seem to hinder installing Firefox add-ons. I thought that if it is unchecked, non-Google play apps could not install, & since add-ons added not from the Google store, aren't they unknown?

The unknown sources option only applies to Android apps, not add-ons
Sounds like a security risk. I would feel better if the Add-ons were in the Google Play store, like Dolphin Browser.
We check all addons on our add-on site for security issues, so there isn't a security risk in that. So no, Firefox add-ons aren't going on the play store, nor is that even possible afaik
