Why does Firefox not respond to a javascript "close browser" command?

IE and Chrome both recognized this javascript. Can you tell me what other command we should be using or if there is a security setting blocking this? I can't find any security setting that I can use.

Javascript can only close a window that it opened, it can't close the browser.
