I run Windows 7, with Firefox 26 (beta) loaded. Attempted to play 'Bones' video on Fox homepage, and needed Adobe Flash Player (AFP). Downloaded and ran/uninstalled AFP multiple times; each time it shows up on my hard drive, but it does not show up on my Firefox ad-ons list? If I then attempt to play a video on Fox, it alerts me that AFP is not installed? I am frustrated - I read all the posts about this issue, and either something is 'odd' and I've missed it, or I'm not understanding the corrections offered. I had no issues at all with Firefox until these last couple of updates? I have not been asked to load AFP until now - has the Fox network changed their video player requirement? I definitely remember watching videos on their webpage months ago... Would uninstalling and installing a fresh copy of Firefox help? I'm grasping at straws here... Thanks

Hello,

According to your system details, you have correctly installed the latest version of Flash. A clean install (and then reinstall the Flash player) may help as you suggested. But first, I'd try clearing your cookies and cache (see below). Also, you may need to roll back to the latest full release, Firefox 25 until this problem is resolved.

Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Thanks very much for the assistance! I did exactly as you suggested, and I now can run the Bones episodes using Firefox 26. I still do not see AFD listed in my ad-ons list, but that is trivial.
