Firefox is now transferring all data on every webpage I visit to Mozilla. How do I stop this? I don't want to share every single page/details that I visit.

I just started using Firefox again after a long time. At the bottom it said it would start transferring all data from all web pages back to them to help with future releases or something. I just clicked to close and now it literally is transferring every single data when I visit a web page. I'm not going to use Firefox if I have no control over my privacy. How do I get that turned off? Thanks,

hello LeeSD92103, just to start with: your firefox browsing habits are NOT transferred to mozilla! what you probably are seeing on the bottom left of your browser is an indication of the data that is transferred from the web to your device in order to render websites.

what you might have seen on one of the first start is a message that asked you to opt-in to send some telemetry data to mozilla, which is used to improve the browser in all aspects. this contains strictly non-personal data like performance data. you can inspect that data yourself by typing about:telemetry into your address bar and/or turn this option off in the firefox menu ≡ > options > advanced > data choices panel.

Firefox gives you complete control over your privacy. Even if you choose to share data to help with future releases, it never sends "all data from all web pages."

To disable this information sharing, click the menu button on the top-right corner, click options, go to advanced, and go to the Data Choices tab. Here, you can learn about and turn on/off Telemetry, Health Report, and Crash Reporter.

Also... the forum software detected your Firefox as version 28. Is that correct?

Version 28 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 33? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.
