I right-clicked a chose "remove from toolbar" on the new "enter reader mode" icon and it removed my entire address bar and I cannot find where to get it back
With the latest update to firefox (38.0.5) I was removing the new features I would never use like the 'save for later' button. Then the notification popped up in the navigation bar for the new feature 'enter reader mode', which is another thing I will never use. I right clicked it and chose "Remove from Toolbar". This action removed my entire address bar. My navigation bar is still there, but the address bar to input a URL is gone. It is just my search bar and my download and AdBlock buttons. I usually have my address/URL/navigation bar to the left of the search bar with navigation arrows. When I go to customize I cannot find the address bar. I have a particular look I prefer and would not like to have to go through restoring defaults if I don't have to. Perhaps I'm simply missing something stupid obvious and I just need someone to point it out. Thanks!

And was able to "refresh" my firefox. Now the long process of returning to my dumb settings I prefer. Really disappointed in firefox for the first time. Not the solution I was hoping for.
Any clarification on how to remove the 'enter reader mode' icon of a book from the URL bar would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Here is a screenshot for reference as it didn;t seem to upload with the question.
If you use "Remove from Toolbar" then you move this item to the Customize palette. You can enter customize mode and drag the icon back to the toolbar.
- "3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize
- View > Toolbars > Customize
You have the Classic Theme Restorer extension, so the location/address bar is a customizable item.
You can see the Back button and the start of the location bar text in the screenshot. That is the item that you need to restore. If you aren't sure then click the Restore Defaults button.
If you right-click a toolbar item in normal (non-customize) mode then you can remove this item from the toolbar.
- "Remove from Toolbar" will remove this item from the Navigation Toolbar and moves it to the Customize palette ("3-bar" Firefox menu button > Customize)
- "Move to Menu" will move this item to the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list
- "Move to Toolbar" in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list will move this item to the toolbar
Thanks for the effort but not quite the answer to my questions.
Also, to make things worse now I seem to be having issue loading the customization tab at all now too.
Uninstalling Firefox did not erase my settings, so I'm still in the same boat after an uninstalled and fresh install.
So yeah, anything at all would help at this point. Not enjoying using different browsers in the meantime. Firefox has been my go to for quite a long long time.

To remove the reader mode icon, you can do the following:
- In the address bar, go to "about:config", and click "I'll be careful"
- In the search box, enter "reader.parse-on-load.enabled"
- Double-click on the result that appears to set its value to false.
You're not the only person to run into this since Firefox 38.0.5 was released. Another CTR user: FF 37 - I deleted my address bar, can't get it back.
Well I don't quite feel as stupid now. Thanks jscher2000. And for those wondering; user293's solution does work for the reader icon. I had made another thread/question about that and received the same solution.
