Firefoxcrashes everytime I open any tab containing a youtube video, unless I'm in secure mode.
It started today, a few hours ago in fact. After having booted up my system again after a short few hour break from work, firefox started immediately crashing when I tried to restore previous session. After numerous trial and error scenarios I identified the problem to be that it crashes specifically when opening any tab containing a youtube video. It also crashed when making this account and when trying to open google maps. Refreshing firefox does not work. Reinstalling does not work. Running in Secure Mode fixes the issue, but I'm looking for a more permanent fix.

OK, so while I was fixing my other problems it also fixed this issue.
TL;DR There were some viruses on my PC that likely messed with the system files, I took out my hard drive and performed a scan using another computer, found about 60 of them. Then I upgraded to win 8.1 which fixed the issue, likely by overwritting the damaged system files.

PS It crashes specifically on opening pages containing youtube videos, not youtube main page and does so even if it's not as part of session restoration.
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
I'm gonna try these as soon as I can, a whole lot of other issues cropped up that I have to deal with first. I probably caugh something nasty.
