Firefox is very very slow "searching for javascript" when redirected to new page.
Using mac os 10.7.5 and Firefox 38.0.5. Logged in to my bank's web page, my account. When I seek to do a bill payment, the command redirects to a new site. It takes at least 5 minutes to load the bill payment web page for my account. I get a "searching for javascript" message while I wait. Once page is loaded everything works just fine.
Mac Safari will not load the page at all. It just hangs. No problems with windows machine.
Bank IT guy doesn't have a clue. Any way I can speed up the loading?
Thanks.

Hello,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
- Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
- Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
- If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
- At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
- Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
- Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Still very slow, although now a lot of time is spent "transferring data" as well as searching for javascript.
I use Firefox primarily for banking, and have no add-ons or extensions.
Thanks
Try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).
HI sevenspires , Sometimes javascript libraries can be hosted remotely and can take a bit to load. This can affect page load time.
Generally you can increase the number of pipelines of connections Firefox makes, however this would be recommended if there are many other webpages that are open as well when visiting the bank page. Lightbeam can show you how many connections Firefox is making and tracerouting the link they have to the javascript library can tell if the latency is actually the issue. However if its just javascript I do not see how this is the issue since only hosted libraries like jquery etc are not native.
Bottom line, without being a user of the bank its difficult to troubleshoot. If you can reproduce this in a new profile with no add ons or changed preferences then we know it is Firefox and we know that it only happens on a particular operating system is where this becomes difficult. Can you give anymore information from the console in the developer tools when it is searching for javascript?
Thanks for your reply. How do I obtain "...information from the console in the developer tools when it is searching for javascript?"
I did a refresh as suggested above and performance improved somewhat. I used only default preferences with no add-ons and no other open web pages. Now, the system divides time about equally between "transferring data" and "looking up javascript". It all takes about 2 minutes to complete connection to the new page, which is on a server hosted by Fidelity.
Apple Safari can not make connection at all, although at one time it worked well and then suddenly stopped. Windows works well, but I don't have a PC or a Windows emulator. I am unsure whether this problem arose after an OS update , but might there be some key security setting in system preferences that I need to check?
I have no such problems with any other web pages that do a redirect.
