I often want to sent an email with several photo. At present I have to "Insert" each image one at a time. I would like to select several at once. It would save a lot of time and hassle, especially when they are stored in the same place.

Inserting an image needs to apply html code regarding that image, it allows you to add specific details reagarding that image. Also great when creating signature html files. So it only allows one at a time. This is really ok for the odd image if clarifying content, but if you have several photos you want to share, then inserting is not the best method for several reasons.

The best way is to attach the images.

  • Open a new Write message.

Option 1.

  • click on 'Attach' button
  • Select/highlight eg: 3 images
  • click on 'Open' button
  • All three images will be auto attached.

Option 2:

  • Open the folder on computer which has the images.
  • Select/highlight eg: 3 images
  • Then left click and hold down to grab those images and drag them into the area to the right of the TO fields.
  • The attachment pane is revealed, I released the mouse and all three images are attached.

Benefits: The recipient can then have the option to see the images displayed below the message....in Thunderbird that would be 'View' > 'Display attachments inline'. In addition they can open them in a suitable program and increase the scale to see them more clearly. They can choose to Save the images to their computer just in case they lose the email. Also, more importantly, they can choose to detach those images storing them on their computer or other device, which means they can reduce the size of the email in the inbox.
