Can I merge bookmarks with sync rather than create 2 copies.
I used Sync to share my bookmarks between my desktop and laptop. I now have 2 sets of bookmarks. What I was wanting to do was to merge the 2 almost identical sets into 1 Bookmarks Menu.
Can this be done?

I just deleted the second copy of all my bookmarks and now I only have one set that is the same on both machines.

This is the Thunderbird support forum. If your question is about Firefox please say so. It can then be moved to the Firefox support queue.
Sorry about that. This is my first time on Mozilla Support. This is a Firefox question. I don't see how I can move it so should I just repost it on the Firefox Support forum?
A moderator will move it. Just be patient.
Will do. Thanks for your help.

Yes, that's how Sync works. It merges bookmarks on laptop / desktop devices so that they are the same. There are a few differences with "mobile" devices such as Firefox for Android and Firefox for iOS, when used on the same Sync account as the "desktop" and laptop version.
Depending upon how many bookmarks and on each device and the overall total, it may take Firefox some time to get all the combined bookmarks in the same exact order. And be forewarned that the Bookmarks Toolbar folder in each will (eventually) be the same; can't have them with different content of order.
The only reason that I would think that your bookmarks wouldn't be the same, after a few days of use, would be that "separator" lines were added on one device or on both devices but in different places. I vaguely recall that happening to me once, but a long time ago with an earlier version of Sync. I haven't done that type of "grouping" in recent years with Sync; using the "separator" allows the user to do an "alpha-sort" below a "separator" so that a "grouping" of bookmarks can have a manual "alpha-sort" while leaving others un-sorted. Of course that can be accomplished per folder; "sorting" is done within a folder, too.
