I have two different Mac computers. One has Firefox 48.0 the other has Firefox 48.02. Both say they are the latest version. So, what *is* the latest version of Firefox?

Firefox 48.0.2 is the latest. However, Firefox on Mac may not be informed about the .2 update because it contains a fix primarily directed toward Windows users. That's a little unfortunate because Firefox 48.0.1 contained fixes that might be useful to all Firefox users, so it may be worth updating anyway. I'm just not sure how to force it...

Firefox 49.0 would have been the latest Release however it was delayed from Sept 13 to 20.

No real forcing needed. Just drop the old one in the trash and put the new one in it's place. Thanks for the explanation, very helpful.
