After resetting password, all bookmarks erased and cannot recover.
I forgot my password for Firefox sync, when I went to reset password it said "All usernames and passwords will be erased". I was fine with this, but it also seemed to erase all my bookmarks... this is a major inconvience to me as multiple websites for paying bills or work are now gone without a trace. I made no HTML backup of my bookmarks as I wwas under the impression that the sync feature did this in an online database. To make matters worse, this happened on the same day I got a new phone and new computer. Honestly I'm not sure if there is even a solution to this problem, and if there isn't I will no longer use Firefox as I would rather not risk this happening again.

Sorry, no backups of Sync data are saved. One set of data which is deleted when the Firefox Account password is changed. That password was used to create the encryption key for your data; that data is useless with a different password, so the data is deleted.
" this happened on the same day I got a new phone and new computer. " What about the old devices? Your data should be on those devices; only the data that was on the Sync server was deleted, not data on connected devices.

Hi, so there are no bookmarks when you click the bookmarks button - that's very odd!
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
if Safe Mode didn't help, and in case a Refresh has occurred, please look on your Desktop for a file named Old Firefox Data - Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.
If the file isn't there, you can try this: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore, and see if you have a backup there.
If not, please see -
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem. Thank you!
I attempted these solutions with no results. If Firefox doesn't store any profile data in an online backup then I'm fairly sure that my issue cannot be solved.

That's a shame. Thank you though, at least I have an answer.
