I frequently print to a pdf. I frequently cannot open the pdf in acrobat reader - when I try to open the pdf I get 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.'. The frequency of these damaged pdf files increases with each firefox update. Of 10 files I printed to pdf yesterday, 6 did not open.

I'm on Macbook Pro, os 10.12.6. This has been happening for several years and on multiple Macs. This does not happen when using Safari on the same computers.

Hi markinkok, what method do you use to print to PDF?

For example, in the Print dialog, do you select the standard Mac method, or an Adobe printer driver? Or do you use an add-on?

Do you know if it matters whether the file name end with a .pdf extension? (On Windows, I certainly would check that.)

more options

I use the standard Mac print, save as PDF.

Don't know about saving without the PDF extension.

Do all of the file names end with .pdf so we can rule out the file extension as a factor?

more options

Yes, the extension is always automatically added to the file name.
