Hello,

I have a @hotmail.de email account with 2FA enabled. I would like to use OAuth to connect it to Thunderbird 78. If I do choose OAuth2 as my password method then a popup from MS opens as normal. But when I enter my Email address the webpage in the popup tells me that I can not use a personal account and should instead login with a university, enterprise, ... account.

Is there a way to use TB78 with outlook.com and Oauth? Is what I am experiencing a bug or intended?

I don't think OAuth works yet with personal MS accounts (outlook.com, hotmail.com etc.). But if you have 2FA on the account, use an app password in place of the regular account password.
