Long time TB users. Classic layout, but with Event Pane closed (always).

My issue is with the Message List Pane. In brief, new messages (in bold signifying unread) are at the bottom in the order they arrived. Problem is, if there are 7 new messages, when I click on the directory of messages within the Folder Pane, only 2 are visible in the Message List Pane. Never all 7 of them. Gotta scroll. Been dealing with this forever it seems. Suffiently frustrated by the constant drip of my time being wasted to seek help.

Attached are two images (TB-Message-List-Pane1.jpg and TB-Message-List-Pane2.jpg). Note how in the Aciera directory, the Folder Pane indicates 7 new messages. Clicking that folder (Aciera) reveals just 2 of them. To see all 7, I am forced to go scroll - grrrr!

Anyway, I hope this is enough data to provide a clue to the issue. Many thanks in advance.

You could show the Quick Filter Bar (Ctrl+Shift+K) and click the Unread button to display only unread mail.

Thanks for the idea, but what I want to see is this without first having to scroll . . . TB-Message-List-Pane3.jpg

Ctrl+Shift+K is fine, except, I don't want to be limited to only seeing unread. Thanks for your thoughts!

Sort the pane in descending order of Date (click the Date column button). Or, to see more messages in the Threads Pane, select View/Layout/Vertical View. The Unread button shows the unread mail when it's clicked; click it again to return to the unfiltered view.

I find it curious, is TB somehow limited to showing only 2 unread messages when selecting a folder? Is this something nobody has ever noted? I wonder because messages are already sorted by date, such that latest already the bottommost.

Regarding the vertical view, it's unfortunate but with my 16:9 aspect ratio screen, I loose the ability to at a glance see from whom a message is (correspondent) along with subject and date. Probably why I use Classic view

Quite a conundrum, eh? Am I the first to bring this to anyone's attention? To confirm, since nobody has said this doesn't happen with their installation, does it operate this way for everybody? Hopefully it's addressed some day.

Many, many thanks to those trying to render aid.

You have to decide which information is most important, and choose a layout that is optimal. You could make your Threads Pane show more useful info by hiding some columns such as Junk Status, Starred, Read, Thread, and using a smaller font for the Threads and Folder Panes (with a userChrome file). Your Folder Pane could be almost half as wide without being unreadable.
