X-Notifier opening new tabs
Hello,
I'm running Firefox on three different computers with the same set of extensions in use. On my MSI laptop, incoming email will cause X-notifier to spawn a tab and automatically switch to that tab. This is problematic because I'm watching instructional videos when the browser will automatically switch to the new tab and I have to keep clicking back on what I'm watching.
The only thing I've been able to do at this point is disable the X-notifier extension so this doesn't happen, and re-enable it when I'm done. This doe not happen on my desktop machine or work laptop.
Can you point me to what is causing this behavior? All machines are running Windows 10.

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to the Firefox Support Forum. I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the X-notifier extension in Firefox on your MSI laptop. Let's try to troubleshoot and find a solution for you.
First, I would recommend checking if there are any specific settings within the X-notifier extension that control the behavior of opening new tabs. Please open the X-notifier settings and see if there are any options related to opening tabs or switching focus. You may need to disable or adjust these settings to prevent the automatic tab switching behavior.
If you don't find any relevant settings within the X-notifier extension, it's possible that there might be a conflict with another extension or Firefox feature. To troubleshoot this, I suggest disabling all other extensions temporarily and see if the issue persists. If the problem goes away, you can then re-enable the extensions one by one to identify the one causing the conflict.
Additionally, please ensure that you have the latest version of Firefox and the X-notifier extension installed. Outdated software can sometimes lead to compatibility issues. You mentioned that all machines are running Windows 10, so make sure Windows is also up to date.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, please provide more details about the extensions installed on your MSI laptop, including their versions. This will help us narrow down the possible causes and provide you with further assistance.
As a Firefox Support Forum volunteer, I'll be happy to help you further once you provide the additional information.
