In options - Content - The tick box "Enable Java" is missing and then within the Advanced Javascript Settings the tick box "Change Status Bar Text" is also missing.

I am trying to view coordinates on a mapping system from a Govt Website; http://services.land.vic.gov.au/landchannel/content/help?name=interactivemap

I can get it to work on Internet Explorer 8.

Because the Status Bar has become a legacy feature, you have to use about:config to change this setting.

Type or paste about:config in the location bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

In the filter box, type or paste status and pause while Firefox filters the preferences list.

Double-click dom.disable_window_status_change to changes its value from true to false.

Does that fix it?

Nope not working, use Ctrl+/, see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/830192. Much safer approach

@fire-fly, I don't understand how displaying or not displaying the Add-ons bar is relevant to the poster's question. Does it improve how that site works?

Hi jscher2000,

is there a way in about:config to change/edit the text written in the title bar of Mozilla Firefox window? i'm having version 4.0.1 and i don't seem to find an add-on to do that as they all support 3.x.x versions.

thanks in advance.

@adelhamami, I haven't researched that before. When using the abbreviated menus (represented by the orange Firefox button), the old title area is blank. When using the classic menu bar, Firefox displays the page's <title> in the title bar. What behavior are you looking for?
