I reher to the Firefox 18 guide on allowing me to communicate with a vendor so I can top up this product online. Firefox currently pauses and then crashes. If I understand correctly there should be a red icon to the left of my URL that I click on to allow communication to take place with this website and my top up will take place.

Despite the vendor advising me my Jave software is up to date (I use Snow Leopard so Java is included) there is no red icon to click on. Please advise.

Thanks

If you have Java 7 update 13, it is not blocked and you don't need to click the Red Icon.

I have the same problem

I have indeed installed the 32 bit Java 7 Update 13 and attempts to run either of those test pages also get the "Application has been blocked for security reasons" alert box instead of the Java warning message I got with Update 11, and there is no red Java icon in the URL box. That means that I can't enable the Java app, which is a satellite photo loop on my local National Weather Service web site.

It was working with Update 11. It appears that Mozilla 18.0.2 doesn't recognize Java 7 Update 13, which supposedly fixes the 0 day security problem of earlier Java 7 versions.

Is there an about:config or Windows registry setting fix for this problem?

That is just great except

that it updated again and blocked it again!

The Mozilla developers have decided to block all Java plugins because of ongoing security issues.

"The Mozilla developers have decided to block all Java plugins because of ongoing security issues."

Thanks, I'd rather make that decision myself. I only enable Java for the one site (a Federal government site, btw) that I use that requires it.

I really don't need for the Mozilla development team to start nannying me.
