Disabling Java Development Toolkit
Hi,
I've been having some problems with Firefox lately (shockwave plugin crashes, redirects, choppy youtube videos) so I decided to try a few things. I updated all my plugins, cleared the cache, etc. One problem I'm having is with the Java plugins. I noticed that the Java Development Toolkit is known to be vulnerable by Firefox. I tried updating Java to the latest version but it still says that the plugin is vulnerable. I tried disabling it but it re-enables itself when I restart Firefox. I uninstalled Java altogether and the plugin still exists, this is strange correct?
Anyway I was hoping someone could help me with disabling this plugin permanently. I would also like to know how big of a security risk this plugin is because I had it enabled for a while without my knowledge (I remember Firefox warning me about it and me disabling it but apparently it was re-enabled one way or another)..
Thank you.

the pluin only activates when there is a page that needs that plugin. A better solution would be turning off hardware acceleration but you can still try the Java thing.
So is this even a problem, can it be solved in getting a newer java development kit. I have confirmed my install of java is current. Do not consider registry key edits a real fix.
What is firefox 'really' telling me about the plugin it disabled.
These feels like a big waste of time.
