First, I notice from reading similar pleas for help, that any alterations to Bookmarks/Favorites I might achieve in FF will be duplicated in IE. This I don't want to happen, can it be avoided?

The problem that brought me here is that though my "IE Favorites" were in need of "pruning" they were mainly organised into folders. Those that were not, were an ever growing list of "temporary favorites" which had not yet been promoted to "Folder Status" and these appended the folder list!

"Organised chaos", I grant you, ...but MY organised chaos!!

NOW, since importing to FF, the IE folders and individual entries have been "Alphabetised" resulting in an homogenous list which my pea brain cannot handle!!

Is There some way I can do some "housekeeping" to make this a more user friendly list?

Yes, bookmarks can be easily managed by dragging and dropping them into folders or in part of the list that you wish them to appear. This can be done in the bookmarks toolbar (ctrl + b or command + b to open) or in the Bookmarks > show all bookmarks menu.
