How do you synch the new built-in calendar (version 38 - not lightning - I'm fed up getting answers about lightning from people who don't read the question) with google calendar?

synchronizing the new calendar (not lightning)

There is no new calendar. Lightning is the calendar extension for Thunderbird.

In addition to Lightning install this add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/

Then create a new network calendar. File (Alt-F) - New - Calendar Choose Google Calendar.

When prompted enter your Google credentials.

This is labelled as solved but it isn't, because anything added in the Thunderbird calendar does not synch with the Google one, even when the add-on Provider is enabled. Is there really no answer to this?
