I opened firefox and got message it was corrupted. The next day there was an X over it on the toolbar. I removed this and put old application in the trash. Then tried to download using safari. It got to 15 seconds remaining and looks like it freezes. Every time since--even after turning off computer--when I try to download it, it opens to the same thing--saying that there's 15 seconds left, nothing happens. And it appears to be frozen. What do I do? I'd like to download and use firefox again. I have a Mac, 10.6.8.

Were you trying to download from Mozilla.org ?

What said Firefox was corrupt? What program?

Using another computer, Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} onto a thumb drive. After, plug the thumb into your system.

Yes to first question. I don't know what program told me it was corrupt. I used it once with that message. Next day, in place of icon was a white box with x. Will try your suggestion.
