I installed Windows 10, then Firefox, then I imported my old Firefox profile from my old Win7 hdd. The Certificate Manager (Tools->Options->Advanced->View Certificates) is empty. I click on the Import button, and whatever certificate I choose (pfx or p12), the Certificate Manager keeps empty. Nothing happens I googled the problem but I didn't fine any answer. Could anybody help me? Thank you in advance! Regards;

Did you restore the cert8.db file?

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

You can copy/transfer files like these to your current Firefox profile folder.

  • bookmarks/history: backups in the bookmarkbackups folder and possibly places.sqlite if you really need the history
  • other SQLite files like cookies.sqlite (cookies) and formhistory.sqlite (saved form data)
  • logins.json and key3.db (decryption key) for Passwords saved in the Password Manager
  • permissions.sqlite and possibly content-prefs.sqlite for Permissions and Site Preferences
  • cert8.db for stored intermediate certificates (Certificate Manager)
  • sessionstore.js for open tabs and pinned tabs and tab groups

You can recover more personal data.

It is best not to restore the full profile folder, but only restore data you really need and that is safe to restore. It is best to reinstall extensions and redo toolbar customizations and Options/Preferences settings and not copy files like prefs.js and xulstore.json.

Probably I did restore my cert8.db file, since I moved the entire folder from the Win7 disk to the new installation. So, now what? Shall I delete the cert8.db file, so that is re-created?
