I use set reminders to myself using events. Now I set them and nothing happens. Time passes by the scheduled set time and no reminder shows up in my Inbox. Why?

I click Events and Tasks put a title in set the date and time Save & Close

A dialog as I said before, a pop up window with the reminder. But it will only work if Thunderbird is running.

reminders appear as dialog, not an email. Are you confusing this with something Gmail does?

Matt, I thought that scheduled Events use to be sent to my Inbox. Maybe you're right. I have used Windows Live Mail and I know it sends a message to the Inbox reminding me of an upcoming event. I thought Tbird did this too though.

However, T-bird has this feature: Go under Tools, Options, Calendar, Reminders. Under Reminders you have the choice for when a reminder shows up before a scheduled Event. What would this before if there is no pop-up feature or something in your Inbox to get your attention? Also, you can set to play a sound.

I think somewhere in T-bird either I don't have something set right; or a file is missing and maybe I should uninstall Tbird and download again. If I do that though I'll lose my contact list.
