I have started to notice that when I do a web search, the result headings are highlighted with a light green or pink color. I want to find out what this is for and how I can disable it.

I figured it out. It was a setting in my Trend Micro privacy settings. It tells me which sites are known to be safe (green) and which are untested (grey) and which are risky (red/pink).

Thanks for the help.

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Is that with using the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar or on a browser page (about:home, about:newtab) or when you use the (quick) Find bar (Ctrl+F) at the bottom of the Firefox window?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Here you go. Using the search bar. They are mostly green...occasionally grey. I thought I saw pink at one point but can't replicate that.

That for reporting back on how you fixed it. I've marked your above reply as the solution.
