Was using Thunderbird for our e-mail. In June 2017, a Win10 update started to cause some computer system instability problems, such that log-in was impossibe, but a re-install was recommended. So, I did the reinstall and of course many of the programs on the computer were removed, including Mozilla programs. I got Thunderbird back, but I don't have any of the archived mail folders (i.e., local folders), and the address book is gone. I can't find a back-up location that may have that stuff saved. Am I out of luck, or is there a path to recover these connections. Thx!

if you have a windows.old folder on your C: drive then there is hope. If not the data was probably lost in the reinstall.

You could look for an old profile windows key + R Type %appdata% open the Thunderbird folder, then the profiles folder. is there more than one folder there?

Actually, no but yes. You offered a way for me to check that there was no pre-re-install profile for Thunderbird to find. The folders that looked potentially interesting were empty. Thank you for your suggestion.
