I am downloading firefox. I have been at it for over an hour. It is only 1/4 downloaded, as shown on the slide bar. Is this normal?

I am trying to download firefox. Had it, but it became corrupted with a virus - think from ebay. I deleted all firefox from my computer and am trying to download a fresh version. I've been at it for over an hour. The slide bar was up to 1/4 done, but has now retreated to a little, tiny green slip at beginning of bar. What's going on?
