I hate this new 57 version. FF is not a fancy toy for me, it is a tool!
All advices how to make 57 look similar to 56 are probably very helpful, but I have no time to follow tours, helps and procedures for my tools which worked OK. With this change you made, took many hours, health any possibly money (as in my case) from thousands and maybe millions of people all over the world... Please think wider and deeper the next time. There can't be, in one jump, so many changes - slowing or preventing all operations, which were automatic and fast. BW

Photon is a new design that creates a fluid, native experience on every operating system. There is more room above the tabs, the search bar and address bar now have the option to be combined or separated, and the menus in Firefox are organized by common tasks.
In order to customize all your favorite functions, you can use the ‘Customize’ setting in this new menu. See the Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars article for more info.
Where is the Downloads button?
The Downloads button is not shown by default, but will appear when you download a file from the web. If you want to permanently add it to the toolbar, follow the steps in this article to find and add it to the toolbar.
How can I reorder my New Tab Preferences in the Activity Stream (about:newtab)?
Currently you cannot change the layout of the new tab page, but I recommend having a look at the addons.mozilla.org website where you may find an add-on that will help you customize that page.
Starting a few months ago Firefox started to slow down a LOT. Now my add on apps stop working along taking a lot more time to do any thing.
I WANT MY OLD VERSION BACK NOW.
No I am not a happy camper at all. I can not get any work done.
If possible a support tech could check my system using Go Meeting (or some other app)

Mozilla relies on support volunteers, so it's probably not the best idea to let them (us) into your computer.
There are two supported paths:
(1) Stick with Firefox 57 and seek guidance on replacing essential extensions or working around missing functionality.
(2) Switch to the Extended Support Release of Firefox 52, which will run Legacy extensions and receive security updates through next Spring. More info on "ESR": https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/faq/
If neither of those is appealing, you can choose a different version.
Before making any drastic changes, I suggest making a backup of your current settings: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.
