ive just got a new pc build using some of my old hardware. before my old pc was disected i synced firefox to try and back it up. now i have firefox on my new os (win10) my bookmarks wont sync no matter what i do. ive tried logging out and back in, ive made sure the boxes are all ticked and restarted both firefox and pc multiple times. i still have access to my old win7 files and have tried to search manually for my bookmarks but cant find any folder that might contain them. Also my addons dont seem to be syncing either.

Sorry, but Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner; in lieu of a real backup. Some users have gotten it to work like that, but overall the vast majority end up with nothing.

The Firefox Profile (user data) is stored in the AppData file structure in Windows; you should be able to "recover" the various files in the Profile folder (or all of them) from your Win7 files.

Typically, the prefs,js file is the one file that could cause issues, when there are "path specific" values for prefs.
