In Firefox preferences, I don't want to check the two check-boxes as below, especially later one.

'always check if firefox is your default browser' and 'Warn you when quitting the browser'

But the check-boxes are locked, so I couldn't change that choices. How can I uncheck the choices?

The first one is easy: check the top box, then uncheck the indented box, then uncheck the top box again.

For the other, well, I'm sure there's something under about:config that will do it, but you could also take the peasant route: set something else as your default browser then come back here and uncheck this box.
