I want Thunderbird to act the way it used to. I want to double click on a message and have it open in a new tab and for Thunderbird to go immediately to that tab.

The way it is now I have to right click on a message, tell it to open in a new tab and then scroll to that tab and open the message. What a F###### crock of S@@.

This is clumsy and ineffective.

Don't tell me it is my operating system. I already went through that.

It is most certainly a fault with Thunderbird.

It has changed.

They say that volunteers do better work than paid employees, but I have to wonder!

I just double clicked on a message in the message window list, it opened in a tab and the tab opened. SO perhaps your experience is not a common as you suspect.

Have you tried restarting Thunderbird with addons disabled from the help menu and then continuing into safe mode when prompted? If not I suggest you do so.

Please be respectful in this forum.

It works also for me. I've seen only one other report of of this in several weeks of version 78, so it is most definitely uncommon. I cannot find the reference just no.
