Etsy not functioning in Firefox on Mac
Hello, I use Firefox on my Mac, and I'm a seller on Etsy. For several days now, I have not been able to get to any page on the Etsy site (my shop, Etsy home page, Etsy help, other shops...). I can get there on my iPhone (Safari) and by using Chrome, which I would rather not use.
I've tried shutting down my Mac, and I've tried quitting and re-starting Firefox.
This is not the first time I've had this issue, but this is the longest it has lasted. I checked with a friend who is also an Etsy seller, and she's experiencing the same problems. It occurs to me that the intersection between Etsy sellers and Firefox users might well be a large group.
The details: MacBook Pro 2015, MacOS Catalina 10.15.7; Firefox 83.0. Today is 2 Dec 2020.
If this is about clearing the cache, I'd appreciate some info about how to do it, as well as what might else could be impacted.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?
While you are in safe mode;
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Thanks for your reply, and for the explanation about clearing cookies and the cache.
First, you asked for a link. As I said, this issue is happening for me and one other seller, on any Etsy page we both tried to access. That said, here's the link to my shop on the Etsy site: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LoVedoArt/
Second, I can certainly go through the process you listed, and it will probably work. I think that this is what I had to the last time, too. Thank you for spelling out the process for me.
But that's not really my point in writing. What I really want is to not have to do this. I want to have Etsy functioning well in the Firefox browser, not just for me, but for other sellers and for all our potential customers. If the above is the only solution, then we (the Etsy community) are going to lose a lot of people, because very few are going to be willing to go through those steps. Does Firefox really want to lose all Etsy business to Chrome? I wouldn't think so. It's an enormous amount of traffic.
So here's my real question: how to get the folks at Mozilla and the folks at Etsy to talk to each other about this? This is not a one-time problem, and it's not just one user. It's a world-wide community.

I haven't gotten to it yet; I had a class today and a bunch of work, plus it's going to take me a while to close the links I have open.
But again, what I really want here is to have the folks at MOZILLA READ THIS. This is an ongoing issue for other people besides just me.

A lot of people that use content blocking extensions do not realize or consider that these extensions can block essential content and can cause issues with websites not showing properly. This also goes for Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox, but that at least shows a purple shield to warn you for possible issues.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.
Thank you, cor-el. I checked, and none of this is an issue. However, I'll keep this info so that I can check for it next time. I'm pretty limited with my use of extensions, and they're always up to date. I've never seen that shield appear in purple, but again, I'll keep an eye on it.

No problems here with the LoVedoArt website, so this doesn't look like a Firefox issue, but can be caused by corrupted files in the cache or some other changes you made to Firefox.
You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.
You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.
If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

Nothing here answers my MAIN QUESTION: this has happened to multiple sellers on Etsy, and it has happened multiple times. I don't think it's as simple as one user who has an issue with caches or cookies or ad blockers. I think it's a big-picture issue with how Etsy and Mozilla talk to each other. And I am here to beg and plead for Mozilla to communicate with Etsy about how to fix this for all of us, not just me.
Please, please, please. I really do not want to use Chrome for my work on Etsy, but if I have to, I will.

I'm not able to replicate your issue with my current profile with the Etsy website, so I don't why you and other experience it.
The Web Console and Network Monitor might be able to give clues if this is a network issue. Security software also can cause issues and that might be harder to diagnose on Mac.
You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Several days later, Etsy is now functioning on Firefox, without my changing anything at this end. Thus I think this issue has nothing to do with my computer, and everything to do with how Etsy and Firefox communicate (or don't) with each other.
Thanks to the two of you who tried to help. If anyone at Mozilla is reading this thread, I'm here to ask you to look into why this happens.
