Hi, .html files which I've downloaded onto my hard drive as complete web pages won't work if they are moved to another directory. Is there a work-around for this ? Thanks in advance. afk

Hi jscher2000, Thanks for the quick reply. It looks to me like the first addon link (single file save) is the best way forward.

For my existing files I found that I can activate an instance of the .html file and use File\Save_As . . . to relocate the cluster to a different location.

You mention a companion folder. Is this folder usually in the same location as the webpage .html and sub-directories or is it found in the . . .Firefox\Profiles\. . . area ?

Thanks again. afk

Hi afk, each .html file has a companion folder of assets used in that file. I thought if you moved both the .html file and the folder together, the links would still match up. (Usually, Windows wants to keep them together and should move them both together.)

This business of a companion folder is awkward in other ways as well. There are some extensions that embed the extra stuff all into a single file. You could experiment with these and see whether they give you better results:

Hi afk, the companion folder should be in the same location as the HTML file and have a paired name, like:

  • Firefox Support.html
  • Firefox Support_files
