There were significant changes to the right-click menu from Firefox 87 to Firefox 88. See the screen shots below for the FF 87 vs 88 menus.

Is there a way to restore or customize the right-click menu options? I want to change "Copy Link" back to "Copy Link Location" and for the "a" in "Location" to be underlined. For many years, possibly decades, I have been using right click and then tapping the "A" key to load the URL part of a link into the copy/paste buffer. With FF 88 this is now the "L" key which is painful as my right hand is on the mouse and my left hand is on the left side of the keyboard. Hitting "A" is a no-look-no-brainer for me. For "L" it looks like I need to remove my left hand from the mouse, look at the keyboard, and then tap it.

Related to this is that FF 88 removes "View Image Information" from right clicking on images. I also have used this regularly.

Hi mkupper, these are tough to solve.

(1) I want to change "Copy Link" back to "Copy Link Location" and for the "a" in "Location" to be underlined.

There is no built-in way to change the accelerator key or text label for a menu item. There might be a "hack" to modify the menu, but I can't recall seeing one yet (also, it would be unsupported).

There is at least one add-on which you can install to add a menu item with the "a" accelerator. I haven't tried it myself and it's got low adoption so far:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/copy-link-address-a/

(2) FF 88 removes "View Image Information" from right clicking on images.

This was removed in Firefox 87, and is expected to return in Firefox 89 (in June).

Until then, you could call up the Media tab of the Page Info dialog manually, by pressing Ctrl+i and then clicking Media.

You also could consider using my add-on before it becomes irrelevant: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/view-image-info-reborn/

Hi mkupper, for #1, there is a way to run code in Firefox's Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+j) or in a startup script to make internal changes to the browser -- including modifying the accelerator key on built-in menu items. The code is slightly different between the two methods, and I tested and posted a script for the browser console:

https://gist.github.com/jscher2000/1037c1e95015470289eb4241c3731fc5

This is what you get on the menu after running the script:

I should create a demo video but I'm a little zonked at the moment. Maybe tomorrow.

I have been unable to use Firefox on a site that I have used for years and years. I have also been having trouble signing into other sites. I rely on Firefox, but I am thinking of ditching it because I cannot get any help for this problem. I cannot figure out how to fix the problem. I am not a computer expert and it would be great to have someone walk me through what I need to do. HELP!!!!!

Since that is a different topic, let's continue in your new thread here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1339384
