Hi! When creating a new iCloud account I got stuck at the email verification screen. The email verification never arrived even after I reloaded the page or clicked the "Send a new code" button. I tried that numerous times. I restarted the browser with the same result. The email verification screen had a "Cannot find this person." message in red. I checked my spam filter but there was no incoming emails from iCloud or Apple to that email address. After retrying that for a while I tried Chrome and it worked. One difference I noticed was that it didn't have the "Cannot find this person." message in red. Is there something in Firefox that would prevent that from working as expected?

On a browser, one can visit appleid (dot) apple (dot) com in order to create a new Apple account. The email address that you provide will be used for logging into it.

I assume that "Cannot find this person" means that the email address has not yet been verified, and thus the account has not yet been created. The service is most likely waiting for you to verify your email address prior to the login attempt.

In future, I would make sure that the browser you are using is supported by the service, or use their app. This can be done for instance in iTunes on Windows, and in the Apple App Store on your device.

In Firefox and in general, you can try to disable extensions and protections by visiting 'about:addons' and 'about:preferences#privacy' respectively. Make sure that Firefox is not blocked by Windows Firewall. You may also want to get Firefox Nightly to see if a problem persists with your particular installation.

All right! I tried again with a plain instance of Firefox (no add-ons, default settings) and it worked fine. Seems one of the add-ons could have been interfering there. Marked the problem as solved.
